IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training
IELTS is available in: Academic – for people applying for higher education or professional registration, and General Training for those migrating to Australia, Canada and the UK, or applying for secondary education, training programmes and work experience in an English-speaking environment. Both versions provide a valid and accurate assessment of the four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking.

Computer-delivered IELTS
Yes, it is finally here in Brunei Darussalam. CfBT Brunei, through its Examination Centre, now offers the computer-delivered IELTS. You will now have the option of choosing to take an IELTS test on paper or on a computer as both cover the same content, structure and standards. With the new addition of the computer-delivered IELTS, you can now type your answers when taking the test.
The computer-delivered IELTS offers you more choices and benefits:
- Faster results – your IELTS results will be available in 5-7 days after the test
- More flexibility – more test sessions to choose from throughout the week
- More convenience – Speaking test timeslots available on the same day
- More possibilities – last-minute registration is feasible as registration will only close 4 days before the test date, subject to seats availability
- Access FREE support materials provided by British Council IELTS
- Available for Academic and General Training tests
What is the difference between
paper-based IELTS and computer-delivered IELTS?
If you choose computer-delivered IELTS, you will take the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on a computer. The Speaking test will remain face-to-face with a certified IELTS examiner.

Effective January 2019, CfBT Exam Centre Test fee is BND 360.00 and is subject to change without prior notice to candidates.
Extra Test Report Form
If you want us to send another copy of your TRF to a recognising organisation in addition to the five copies we provide or after two months from your IELTS test date, you will need to pay an administration fee of B$20.00 per copy to send it via registered mail or B$60.00 per copy to send to international destinations via DHL.
You will need to provide the institution’s address and fill in the Application for “Additional Test Report Form”.
A photocopy of your IELTS test result to the application form. We will then send the TRF directly to the institution.
Enquiry on Results
If you did not receive the score you expected, you can apply for your test to be re-marked. This is called an Enquiry on Results (EOR). You can choose which test sections you want to be re-marked and will need to request this at the test centre where you sat the test.
The fee for this service is B$190.00 (Academic and General Training IELTS), which will be refunded if your score is increased for any section of the test. You need to apply for a re-marking no later than six weeks after the test date.
Download the Enquiry on Results Form and submit it to the test centre where you sat the test. Make sure you attach your Test Report Form and proof of payment. Enquiries can take up 2 to 3 weeks to complete.
Cancelling your IELTS test
If you cancel your IELTS test no less than five weeks before the test date, you will receive a refund minus an administration fee of 25% of the test fee.
Please note that refunds can take four to six weeks to process. To cancel your test date, please send your request via email exams@cfbt.org
If an original medical certificate confirming illness on the date of the test is provided within five working days of the test date, together with the Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form, the fee is refundable, minus an administration fee of 25% of the test fee.
Only original medical certificates in English are accepted. If we have not received both required documents at our Napier office by the fifth working day after the test, you will be marked as absent and forfeit all claims.
Please note that we do not accept sick notes issued by family members.
Transfer of Test Date
Candidates may request for test day transfer, but this must be made in writing no later than five weeks before the scheduled test date. This also applies to registrations made within 5 weeks of the test date.
A fee of B$88.00 will be charged for this service.
Please note that the new test date must be within three months of the original date. In cases of illness, transfer is possible within five weeks of the test if an original medical certificate is provided within five working days of the test date, together with the Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Form.
If you receive a transfer to a new test date (either before the test or due to illness) and are ill on the second test date, then you are not entitled to a refund of the test fee nor to any further transfer to a new test date.
